I used to use this blog as a family activity blog, but it hasn't been used as such in over six years. So now it's my own personal diary/blog, for my random thoughts.... and for journaling travels with my sweet hubby, so I can review the good times later.

Found this pic of Mary Borrelli, flanked by her two cousins Louise and Mary, taken at the recent Family Reunion. Cousins rule!
Please help me find THE M Borrelli I am looking for. Was Mary Borrelli a flight attendant for Continental Airlines in 1970s? PLEASE email me and let me know! Thank you!
I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Mary Wroten, Mel's mom, and her sister Cheryl Wroten, are understandably still in somewhat of a shock today. I am ...
Called Rickey and found out that Lori is back at home, amonia levels under control, at least manageable, and she is continuing to recover. They are hoping to go on a cruise in the not-too-far future and are using that as a tool to help give Lori a reason to get well quick. Our prayers continue with you, Lori! ~~ As for me, taxes are out of the way for the moment. I finally filed an extension, so now I have time to go pack, and then when I get back from Israel, I will have until October to get it finished and filed. *Whew*
Well, we (Janice, her sister Gloria, and I) made it to Israel without incident... I had promised myself that I would make a daily entry here, but since arriving on the morning of April 24 we haven't slowed down enough to even make a single entry on this blog! Each day has been filled to the max, and when we've returned home late at night, we've just fallen into bed to catch a few winks before the next day begins. But don't be misled; it's been wonderful. So many reunions with loved ones, so many first-meetings with relatives not met until now, and especially the wonderful service this morning at the little synagogue on the moshav, where Vernon recited the Kaddish (Prayer of Mourning) for Daddy. But more on that later. Right now I will try to post a few pics taken in the past few days.
