Autumn weather ... it's about time

Aaaaah, cooler weather in Arizona, finally. We've had TWO whole days of "below-100-degree" weather, and are all looking forward to a cooler autumn. *sigh* There's a cornfield maze a few miles from here, off Loop 101, anyone want to join me to go through the maze? The last maze I visited was on the Dole Plantation in Hawaii; it was fantastic, the maze was in a huge pineapple shape. I think this local one is designed around Halloween; it's called the "Fear Maze" but should still be lots of fun to go through.

Well we haven't been in the 100s ALL the time, but pretty much of the time. Yesterday, Yom Kippur, was "only" in the 90s....

I LOVE mazes! We had one in a neighboring kibbutz a few years ago, based on King David -- in the shape of the crowned king. Pretty neat and lots of fun to walk through. I've always want to go walk some "official" mazes in cathedrals in Europe -- you wanna come along?

I'd LOVE to. I'm not very good at them (kept getting lost at the Dole Pineaple Plantation maze in Hawaii) but I love them nonetheless. I am planning on going to the Fear Farm maze here locally; will try to get some pics for you. I definitely think you should save your shekels so you and I can go on a trip to Europe. I wanna see those mazes you are talking about, plus I think we should go to Italy together!!!

Saddest News - Melonie Schollmeyer

I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Edith Admitted to Hospital Again

Rick reports that his mom had been overdosed on Coumidin - an extremely dangerous anticoagulant drug - and also had an infection going on. Long story short, she is no longer at the physical rehab facility. She has been admitted again back into the hospital where both situations are hopefully being remedied, and she has the love and support of us all. Auntie Edith, hang in there, we all love you!!

Fast Update on Tom Tate

Dad did finally receive a tracheostomy yesterday, so that tube is gone out of his mouth and now sprouts from his chest. They tried to put the feeding tube down his nose but it keeps clogging up so today [or tomorrow] they will insert a port into his stomach... Later today or tomorrow we will start a search of local specialty hospitals that might have the criteria to care for Dad after his discharge from the ICU. I am headed for the hospital now, so please forgive the brevity of this post. Hugs to all, and thank you again for all your prayers. Susan P.S.
