I used to use this blog as a family activity blog, but it hasn't been used as such in over six years. So now it's my own personal diary/blog, for my random thoughts.... and for journaling travels with my sweet hubby, so I can review the good times later.

Still waiting for Mary's blood clotting levels to come in line to do the hip replacement surgery. Now they are giving her plasma, and are hopeful that by late tonight they will be able to take her to the operating room.
I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. David left for Korea this morning and I miss him already. He won't be gone that long, the job contract is just through May with a possible extension til December. He's flying out of my Mom Radar, and I won't be able to track him any longer, at least not as easily, ha! *sigh* Seems we can't wait for our kids to grow up and then when they do, it's WHAMMO we miss them so much.
Susan, Thanks for all the updates on Dad Tate’s progress. I understand that June has been doing a lot of the actual copy. Thanks to all. I had an Idea which may help, and I would like to share it with all of you. Naturally we are all concerned for Dad Tate’s health. In line with this, I would like to ask anyone who has some pictures of Dad Tate in daily life maybe with family or trimming the roses or such to post them on the web. Jimmy maybe you have some Pic’s, as you are always up to date on these things. I have read that as we are all so concerned, that it would be easy out of FEAR of the possible outcome, to portray to the mind of GOD a negative image of what we really desire. If for example, (and please don’t be offended by the example) when the American Indians used to have a rain dance, we'd say that they were praying “for rain”, but I am told that they were “praying rain”. The subtle difference is that instead of thinking that their crops were drying up in the field and the...
