Welcome to the newest member of the Walker Clan


Check it out -- I am now officially a Great Grandma, and it's awesome. Jezriell Malaya Walker-Jinnes was born today, March 17, 2009 to our granddaughter Acacia Walker and Andrew Jinnes. She was born at 7 am and weighed in at 7 lbs, 6 oz. She is 19 inches long. Both mom and daughter are doing fine, but Grandpa Randy Walker says he's worn out from the long night preceding Jazriell's birth! He and Grandma April were there for Acacia, along with Andrew. Jimmy and I went to the hospital to see Acacia and Jezriell today about 8 hours after the birth, and I got the honor of burping Jezriell for her very first time, ha! P.S. While you're there, you can see some great pics of our other granddaughter Nakaia Walker at her recent high school concert. She's a violinist of no small talent, and we are so very proud of her! Go Nakaia!!

Rickey Lynn, the music on my myspace homepage is set to play different compositions by Keiko Matsui at random, so I don't know exactly which one you heard... there is a play list in the left hand column that you can click on to hear different songs; it will tell you the titles there, okay? And thanks for the kind comments.. it feels a bit weird to be a great grandma but overall I am loving it!

Saddest News - Melonie Schollmeyer

I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Edith Admitted to Hospital Again

Rick reports that his mom had been overdosed on Coumidin - an extremely dangerous anticoagulant drug - and also had an infection going on. Long story short, she is no longer at the physical rehab facility. She has been admitted again back into the hospital where both situations are hopefully being remedied, and she has the love and support of us all. Auntie Edith, hang in there, we all love you!!

Fast Update on Tom Tate

Dad did finally receive a tracheostomy yesterday, so that tube is gone out of his mouth and now sprouts from his chest. They tried to put the feeding tube down his nose but it keeps clogging up so today [or tomorrow] they will insert a port into his stomach... Later today or tomorrow we will start a search of local specialty hospitals that might have the criteria to care for Dad after his discharge from the ICU. I am headed for the hospital now, so please forgive the brevity of this post. Hugs to all, and thank you again for all your prayers. Susan P.S. I am printing out all the wonderful comments to the blog and also the emails I've received from so many, and taking them to Mom to read.
