DAVID IS HOME

So much has happened since my last post, I am unsure of where to start. Therefore I will make it short and sweet:
  1. DAVID WHETSTONE IS HOME. His tour of duty in Iraq is over and he will remain stationed in North Carolina till May or June, when he will be sent to Korea for a year. He's trying to get posted to either Arizona or Washington after that for his final year in the Air Force. He got two weeks furlough upon his return so I went to visit him for a few days and we had a wonderful time just "chilling." Now he's in Washington for a few days before he has to go back to work. THANK YOU to everyone for your prayers while he was overseas. He says it was an experience he will never forget: a lot of work, a lot of tension, and at times a lot of fun, and he is glad to be home.
  2. SCOTT TATE is getting married. Scuttlebutt has it that Scott and Rachael will be married on March 19th in Jacksonville NC. I received an invitation but haven't heard from him otherwise since he enlisted in the Marines. His dad says Scott and Rachael will be married shortly before Scott is scheduled to deploy to the mideast. I am sure prayers will be appreciated!!
  3. TOM TATE ("senior") is having a problem with the coronary arterial valve of his heart and may be facing another open heart surgery. He had an angiogram recently that confirmed the surgical necessity but his kidneys became so stressed that they have delayed it. Last blood tests show the kidneys are recovering nicely so we go to the doc again on Feb 20th to discuss options. Please keep him in your prayers.
  4. MARY WROTEN had a birthday on Februray 10th and celebrated her 78th year by throwing a dinner party. We were treated with boatloads of her delicious homemade ravioli... mmmm mmmm good! You just keep on having those birthdays, Mary!!
  5. DAVID TATE also had a birthday... on February 9th... but didn't invite me to a dinner party; probably because his ravioli isn't as good as Marys. Happy Belated Birthday, Bro!
  6. Coming up is DIANNE (Rizzo) MOORE's birthday, on Feb. 15th -- Have a great day, Lady! And send us some more pics of your house in Port St Lucie, the link given in the January posting seems to have expired and folks want to see your new home!
  7. BETHANY ROHDE is preggers, as is KAREN MOORE. It will be a first child for Bethany and Jason, while Karen and Matt are veteran parents already with little Alli. Both couples have just recently announced their expectancy, so this Fall season should be a happy one!

Okay, Okay, I know I said Short and Sweet. So what do I know? I just write the dang blog, I'm not responsible for editing. Hugs to all, Susan

Sad news - Karen lost the baby. It stopped developing after about five weeks. Karen and Matt are coping as well as can be expected under the circumstances, and are taking comfort in the love of family and friends. Their daughter Allison is doing well and they delight in her daily.
