Life is Perking Along

Life is perking along... with the heat we've been having lately, all you have to do is sprinkle some coffee grounds on your skin and walk outside... Instant Coffee! Here are some of the latest news items in the family:

DAVID IS COMING HOME FOR A VISIT!!! July 31st, for a week... he will leave again on August 8th, then will go up to Washington to see the rest of his family, and then back to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, thence to go to the places Uncle Sam needs him. Please keep him in your prayers that he will be safe; the actual deployment into harm's way will only be for four months... but the actual deployment will be for four months.

Emily is walking without her walker now, and growing stronger each day!! YOU GO, GIRL! 85 YEARS OLD AND STILL GOING STRONG. The hip surgery was a success and though she doesn't like to do the exercises, she is getting better and better every day. Sherry called from Israel the other day and spoke to her, a nice long conversation which thrilled Mom no end. It was Sherry's last day on the archeological dig, I guess she will be happy to go home and sleep in her own bed again!

Janice Tate is now working for an ISP in Colorado and doesn't like it; she won't say much other than that, ha! But it's extra $$ coming into the household so that helps. Jon is getting ready to transfer to ASU to continue his studies... wait a minute, didn't Tom and Jan move to Colorado because Jon wanted to attend school there??? Hmmm maybe this means that we will eventually see Tom and Jan back in Arizona - one can only hope! Miss you guys!!

Loni went to North Caolina to visit son Scott over the July 4th holiday weekend. He is posted at LeJeune... they drove down to Goldsboro (where David lives, a couple of miles from the Air Force base) and spent one day with David. He really liked that.

While Loni was in North Carolina, David (Tate) took son Mark and went camping ... did you all hear that Mark has signed up for delayed enlistment to the NAVY ??!!!!!!!!!! So we are going to be a family that supports just about every branch of the Service!! It's going to make for interesting family reunions at the least...

Haven't heard from Robin since she went back to Virginia after her visit here during Mom's surgery... but I know she's been in touch quite a bit with mom by telephone. She was such a support to both Mom and Dad during that week, I don't know what we would have done without her help. You can post a comment to this blog, Robin, and let us know what you've been up to!

Okay, if I have missed any news items, it's up to YOU to post a comment and set everyone know... have a great weekend, everyone!

Yeah but it was funnier the way I said it... hee hee.... Actually I did really think that they were ready to stay a "split" family for a while longer until Jon wanted to go to school there, I thought that was the "straw" that made them move. Guess not. Well live and learn!! Thanks, June. In any case I hope they move back here, I miss them!! -- Susan
