Robin and Jerry in Arizona

Robin and Jerry Dion are in Arizona on an all-too-infrequent vacation! Visiting with Mom Tate (Emily) and also with son Gary and his wife Jessica. Also helping Gary and Jessica to move from their Grandma Tate's house to an apartment they just rented - Congrats Gary and Jess! Robin and Jerry took Emily up to Sedona for an overnight at the L'Auberge Resort, they should be back sometime this afternoon. Poor things, they had to spend two days up in the cool pines with the clear running river, instead of being down here with us in the Valley of the Dust. I mean the Valley of the Sun. They totally missed the dust storm we had last night, what a pity. I'm purposefully NOT dusting my furniture again till they visit, so they can appreciate what they missed. *hee hee* ~~~ Emily was so excited, waiting for them to arrive, she was like a 5 year old. It's wonderful that they were able to take this vacation to see her. We all have appreciated seeing them and catching up, wouldn't it be wonderful if they could come every year?!

Saddest News - Melonie Schollmeyer

I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Edith Admitted to Hospital Again

Rick reports that his mom had been overdosed on Coumidin - an extremely dangerous anticoagulant drug - and also had an infection going on. Long story short, she is no longer at the physical rehab facility. She has been admitted again back into the hospital where both situations are hopefully being remedied, and she has the love and support of us all. Auntie Edith, hang in there, we all love you!!

Fast Update on Tom Tate

Dad did finally receive a tracheostomy yesterday, so that tube is gone out of his mouth and now sprouts from his chest. They tried to put the feeding tube down his nose but it keeps clogging up so today [or tomorrow] they will insert a port into his stomach... Later today or tomorrow we will start a search of local specialty hospitals that might have the criteria to care for Dad after his discharge from the ICU. I am headed for the hospital now, so please forgive the brevity of this post. Hugs to all, and thank you again for all your prayers. Susan P.S. I am printing out all the wonderful comments to the blog and also the emails I've received from so many, and taking them to Mom to read.
