Corn maze

Last night I went with my next door neighbor Lori Gray, her teenage son, and his friend to a local corn maze. It was FAB-O-LUS. There was a traditional corn maze - very large, over 3 miles of walking - as well as the farmer's famous "Fear Farm" corn maze, and several "haunted houses." The boys went through the Fear Farm maze and the haunted houses, while Lori and I tackled the much larger traditional corn maze. It was themed on the upcoming SuperBowl which will be held here in Glendale AZ on February 3 2008, and "tackled" is the word for the maze! Lori and I made it through in about 45 minutes, but met several people who had been "lost" in the area of the "football" for some time. Everyone who met anyone in the maze Of Course gave them wrong directions, plus it was night-time and the corn was waaaay over our heads, so it was really fun and challenging, trying to negotiate your way through the maze. On our ticket stub was a tiny "map" of the maze, but it was only about 2 inches square so it wasn't real readable, plus it was DARK except when you were in an area that the moonlight could reach you, so it wasn't much help during our travels. Click on the image to see the maze map larger... and if you decide to go (which I Highly Recommend) you may want to print out a LARGE version of the map to take with you, LOL! Entrance to the maze is $8, entrance to the Fear Farm and Haunted Houses is $17. Parking is free and there are several kiosks with food and drinks. (mmm Hot Dogs and Candy Corn!) Go and enjoy it - the fun ends on October 31st.

PS To Sherry: I didn't take any pictures because (did I mention this already?) it was NIGHT !!
Directions if you want to go:
From the city of Glendale AZ, take Loop 101 south to Thomas Road. Turn west and go to 99th Avenue (the first light). Turn south and in about 1/2 mile you will see the Fear Farm entrance and parking on your left (east side of the street).

Dear Susan,

Sounds like it was enormous fun! I've never done a maze at night -- WOW! The last one I did was here, a few years ago; it was shaped like King David... in a cornfield very close to the place he had a little fight with somebody named Goliath...

Next are some mazes in European cathedrals -- those are amazing!

Love,
Sherry

The King David maze sounds great; do they do it every year or was it a one time thing?
