Happy Birthday in June to June !

OK For all you who know I have been gone for just about Forever and who think I am NEVER going to post anything on this blog again.... Gotcha! Things have really been wild around these parts, and I'm not talking about the coyotes, but I have GOT to get stuff posted in a timely manner again. Let's start with JUNE CELEBRATIONS!!! Here's some folks we certainly don't want to miss:
  • June 4 - Ariel and Efrat Whetstone celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary.
  • June 10 - Tom Tate aka Alpha Daddy wins with 87 years under his belt.
  • June 12 - Aubrey Jessica Tate turned 17 - Look out World, here she comes!
  • June 14 - June Rebecca Tate turned turned 24 - Look out World, She's HERE!
  • June 23 - Matt Walker turns the corner on 30 years.... and finally, rounding out the month...
  • June 26 - Edith Tate-Hern turns a wonderful 83 years young!

Saddest News - Melonie Schollmeyer

I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Edith Admitted to Hospital Again

Rick reports that his mom had been overdosed on Coumidin - an extremely dangerous anticoagulant drug - and also had an infection going on. Long story short, she is no longer at the physical rehab facility. She has been admitted again back into the hospital where both situations are hopefully being remedied, and she has the love and support of us all. Auntie Edith, hang in there, we all love you!!

Fast Update on Tom Tate

Dad did finally receive a tracheostomy yesterday, so that tube is gone out of his mouth and now sprouts from his chest. They tried to put the feeding tube down his nose but it keeps clogging up so today [or tomorrow] they will insert a port into his stomach... Later today or tomorrow we will start a search of local specialty hospitals that might have the criteria to care for Dad after his discharge from the ICU. I am headed for the hospital now, so please forgive the brevity of this post. Hugs to all, and thank you again for all your prayers. Susan P.S. I am printing out all the wonderful comments to the blog and also the emails I've received from so many, and taking them to Mom to read.
