I must be having fun . . .

I must be having fun, because time sure has been flying by! Life has been pretty hectic the past little while... I have taken over the webmaster job for www.PackagesFromHome.org and it is a HUGE undertaking. It's a volunteer position (some of the work I get paid for feels like it is volunteer work too though) and the website is really a mess in its present state, plus I am responsible for answering a whole slew of website-generated emails every day... Then on top of that I am trying to get my own business (paid) work caught up because we are leaving town tomorrow to attend Scott's graduation from Marine Corps boot camp in California. YAAY SCOTT AND CONGRATULATIONS !!! We'll be away till Tuesday because we will also be visiting some of Jimmy's relatives in California.... Jenny and Ray/Pam and Roxanne/Ricardo et al. And of course you don't think I will let Jimmy take me to San Diego without taking me to Sea World and the Wild Animal Park, do you??? Let's get serious! See you all when we return!

Saddest News - Melonie Schollmeyer

I don't even know how to write this. We are all so very sad. Melonie Schollmeyer, a vibrant woman, our relative and friend, became suddenly ill over the weekend and passed away. Details at this point are sketchy. **(The following is updated info as of noon Monday)** Melonie's children, Brittany and Robert, just had their Confirmation on Saturday evening. Melonie was not feeling well enough to attend, and stayed at home with flu-like symptoms. Afterward the children, Mary, and Cheryl all visited with Mel before going taking the children to spend the night with Tom. The next day Cheryl and Mary could not raise Melonie by telephone and so asked Tom to go see how she was doing. He did so (thankfully the children stayed in the car) and found Melonie had passed away in the bedroom. The Medical Examiner's Office is doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Edith Admitted to Hospital Again

Rick reports that his mom had been overdosed on Coumidin - an extremely dangerous anticoagulant drug - and also had an infection going on. Long story short, she is no longer at the physical rehab facility. She has been admitted again back into the hospital where both situations are hopefully being remedied, and she has the love and support of us all. Auntie Edith, hang in there, we all love you!!

Fast Update on Tom Tate

Dad did finally receive a tracheostomy yesterday, so that tube is gone out of his mouth and now sprouts from his chest. They tried to put the feeding tube down his nose but it keeps clogging up so today [or tomorrow] they will insert a port into his stomach... Later today or tomorrow we will start a search of local specialty hospitals that might have the criteria to care for Dad after his discharge from the ICU. I am headed for the hospital now, so please forgive the brevity of this post. Hugs to all, and thank you again for all your prayers. Susan P.S.
