Kyle's Mom Passed Away

Sad, sad news. Kyle Lowe's mom, Norma, passed away in Oklahoma on Sunday. Our prayers and thoughts are with Kyle and Kerry, as well as Kyle's sister and the rest of the extended family. It is awful to lose a parent, especially when you are as close as Kyle was to his mother. Condolences may be sent to: Kyle Lowe 525 Sweetbough Jones, OK 73049

Rickey Lynn goes to Denver

This report comes in from Rickey Lynn: We're in Denver! It's cloudy, rainy, with a high of 60 degrees. What a wonderful relief from some of the heat of Phoenix. Tom and Jan and Jonathan and June have been wonderul hosts and hostesses, spoiling Jennifer and myself almost hourly. Today we visited the Butterfly Pavilion and got some fantastic photos. Tomorrow is the real reason we drove 900 miles - it's June's birthday. We're trying to make sneaky plans for a nice cake for her. She would normally be at work tomorrow, but she's entitled to take the day off, so she's going to go in for just an hour to let them know it's her birthday and to let them know she's going home. Then it's into downtown Denver to see what there is to see. That's going to be followed by a dinner in June's honor to celebrate her last birthday in her 20's. Too bad - so sad - many of us have already visited that time in our lives and lived to see another yea...

Baby Austin

Image
Hello! This is Carrie (David's oldest daughter) here. As my first contribution to the blog, I figured I'd tell y'all who don't already know about it about JR and I's big news. We had our first baby on April 28th, a beautiful lil' girl who we named Austin Keelee (She gets her first name from the song "Austin" by Blake Shelton, and her middle name from her Grandma Powell) Austin was a premie at 8 weeks early (32 weeks gestastion) but for a premie, she has done fantastic! The nurses in the NICU nick-named her "mighty-mite" and "rockstar" because from day one she did great: by the time she was 9 hours old, she on nothing but room air, and breathing just fine on her own (which was a HUGE relief to her daddy and I) . She also started to successfully coordinate the suck-swallow-breathe reflex within a few days after her sudden arrival (something we were told not to expect her to be able to do that for until she was closer to 34-35 weeks ge...

Retraction

Well, Carrie and Rickey Lynn have played the guilt card on me successfully... so I'll keep this blog going. But I do ask that others in the clan send me some info to post from time to time, okay? Let us know what is happening in your lives. Carrie volunteered to be a contributor. If anyone else wants to contribute, that's great. If you don't want to be a contributor but do have some news to tell, just send it to me in an email and I will post it for you. If we're gonna keep this up, let's do it up right. Hugs all around to all the family!!

Farewell to the blogosphere

This will be my final post, I am afraid. I don't think anyone reads this blog anymore, so what's the point? It was to keep family and friends informed of events and happenings within the clan, but since nobody seems to check it anymore or contribute to it any longer, I will be closing it out at the end of this month. If there are any who want it continued, please let me know before then, okay? Take care all, and to all a good night. Susan

Mary Borrelli Passed Away

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I pass on the news that Mary (Rizzo) Borrelli passed away last night. Beloved mother of Don and Bill Borrelli, and sister to Carmella Emily (Rizzo) Tate, she will be missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing her vibrant personality. She was nearly 96 years old and still lived independently in her own apartment in Palos Hills, just outside Chicago, Illinois. I was fortunate to speak to her just hours before she died. She explained to me that she had not been feeling well for a couple of weeks, and her son Donnie took her to the E.R. yesterday when she complained of trouble breathing and heart palpitations. The hospital took multiple tests and said she would be fine, but they would keep her overnight "for observation." At around 10pm or 11pm Don and his wife Lupe kissed her goodnight and said they would see her in the morning; she said she was in a hurry to get back home "to clean house!" An hour later the hospital c...
