Jimmy is recovering from a heart attack
My beloved husband Jimmy had a heart attack on March 25th and we are grateful to God (that's an UNDERSTATEMENT !!) that there were no lasting effects from it. He is home now after a 5 day stay in the hospital, and is recovering nicely, other than tiring easily and still sore from all the poking and prodding. His previously-placed stents are not clogged, and that is a miracle in itself. The docs thought they'd have to do open heart surgery after this heart attack, but when they went in via angiogram, lo and behold, nothing beyond some minimal blockages. Nothing really to pinpoint as a culprit for the heart attack other than a branch vein that occluded and then sealed itself off... in effect the heart healed itself. Well, that's what the docs say. We and everyone else who was praying with us know that it was Someone at work. So Thank You Lord for your mercy. And thank you to everyone who was out there praying for Jimmy. God bless you all. All the time Jimmy was in the hospital, I was praying for the strength to help Jimmy, and for him to have the strength to accept whatever was happening to his body. It was very difficult not to pray, "Please God just HEAL him!" I figured that was very selfish and might even be contrary to God's will. So I prayed for strength to accept whatever was in our path, stifling that little voice that was trying to scream, "I don't care about anything else! Just heal Jimmy!" And amazingly, I was not shocked when the docs said they were dumbfounded because after nearly coding in the E.R., and watching his heart telemetry do acrobatics for 5 days, and after all the cat scans, MRIs etc. they fully expected to find his heart a mess when they went in with angiography... They could not give a reason why it looked so good, but I immediately knew why.
If Jimmy is recovered enough in a couple of weeks, we will go to Angelfire New Mexico to spend a week in a log cabin in the middle of the woods, just to "chill out" and take it completely easy. Maybe a little hiking (although it is 8500 ft eleveation, so maybe not, ha!) and maybe a little fishing (I hear there's a great trout lake there). The weather's still cool there so we are really looking forward to it, and especially to spending some time being quietly bored!
